Princess's Story...
Princess is a great gal! She is approximately 2 years old and a wonderful companion. She is good with kids, cats and other dogs. She weighs just under 50 lbs making her a nice size for any home. A very sweet and affectionate personality. Princess is a true honey for anyone wanting a fun and loyal companion.

Princess is great with respectful children of any age. She is currently in a foster home with another female dog and a cat and has no issues with either. She is friendly with everyone she meets and loves affection. If she could, she would have been born a lap dog. She is a true companion and a good natured pet. She would do well in just about any situation. She is well behaved and quiet in the home and currently living in an apartment but we would love to see her in a home with a backyard where she had room to play and a family with children who enjoyed her as well would be wonderful.

Princess has been sitting in the shelter for some time so is a little rusty on her commands but she does walk very nicely on leash and a bit of time spent with her and she will be completely trained. She is intelligent and very willing to please. She loves everyone and is a very affectionate dog. When she came into the shelter she had a severe injury to on leg which was found to have torn two tendons. She has now had the surgery and been given a clean bill of health but will need some time for it to be completely healed and so she does currently have a slight limp. This does not impede her at all but she should probably not do too much strenuous exercise until it has had a bit more time to heal. Otherwise Princess is in excellent health and will make a wonderful family companion.

Princess loves going for walks and making both new human and canine friends. Although she is well behaved and can be left in the home with no issues, she would benefit from an obedience class to hone her skills. She is still active and young and can be silly at times but she settles easily. She loves attention and is always trying to do her best. She knows to play only with her own toys and is content to spend time on her own but is always ready and up for a good cuddle. She responds well to demands and is always wagging her tail with a smile on her face. She loves chewing on a good bone and trips to the park. All in all, with a bit of time put into this girl she will be an amazing companion!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Princess, a Hamilton Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever for sale in Hamilton, or seeking a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Hamilton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Hamilton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Hamilton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Border Collie/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Hamilton paves the way for another one to be saved.
