My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sirena is such a striking dog with a personality to match. Sadly Sirena has been abandoned at least twice in her short life. You see she ended up at the Pound back in December. She was adopted but not five months later was abandoned again. Her new owner said she didn't have time for her. After two weeks, no one adopted Sirena so she was placed on the kill list. RESCUE quickly stepped in and saved this precious girl. And what a special girl she is! Those that have had the pleasure of meeting her are completely smitten with her. Here are just a few of their comments:

"Sirena is absolutely wonderful. In the beginning of our walk she was very excited and energetic. We played tug-of-war for a bit, walked and jogged for a short while. Sirena loves to sniff every bush, she just was very intent on checking out every nook and cranny. Due to the heat, we went inside and played some more tug-of-war. She actually initiated the game by grabbing a stuffed animal and basically tossing it at me. What a gal. She is so laid back and loving. She seems like she would be a great dog for someone who likes the outdoors and who is willing to toss a few balls or run/walk with her. She will make a wonderful companion!"

"Sirena went out with another RESCUE dog. At first she was VERY excited but, once in the car she was very well behaved, and once at South Mountain she walked like an angel on the leash. She didn't pull at all, and didn't even stop to sniff every bush, she just was very intent on going for a hike. She seems like she would be a great dog for someone who likes the outdoors. She also is great at sitting! She is also a lovebug, very affectionate! She likes giving kissed and nuzzling ears. We stopped at the Home Depot for some air conditioned activity and she was really good with the noises, activity and people there, and very well behaved. She was not afraid of anything, and extremely friendly everyone. Overall she is a very sweet, affectionate, smart and active dog."

So if you are looking for an active, loving companion, Sirena is the gal for you. She will need long daily walks or run. Plenty of play time with toys and games of tug-o-war. Sirena needs a home that is going to love her for all the days of her life. How can you resist those eyes and that face?! To learn more - www.azrescue.org.

Sirena weighed 61.6 pounds when we saved her from the kill list.
