Henry's Story...
Are you looking for a perfect little lap warmer? Well look no further! I am Henry at your service. The truth is you would be doing me a service, I really really want a home where I will be loved and cherished. You see my last owner treated me very badly, I was abused and forced to live in a closet. All I want is a soft lap and someone to love. I appear to be housebroken .I love people, do well with children 6+ and I am good with other pets (however I refuse to share my lap) . I am a healthy fella but as you can see my teeth don't line up quite right- I had my jaw broken and it did not ever get fixed. I am used to it now and it doesn't bother me at all. I will however need a trip to the dentist in the near future. So here I am, looking for a new family that deserves a special boy like me. 6 years old-10lbs. My adoption fee is $160 and includes; current shots, neuter rebate, 5 week training class, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam (in the SE Portland/Milwaukie area only), leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Henry, a Portland Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Portland, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
