McGruff's Story...
McGruff is a super handsome, super happy, neutered male terrier mix. he is a happy go lucky bundle of tail wagging happiness - on the move, checking things out and greeting everyone with a great big hello.

McGruff is a solid, low slung terrier package with black wiry hair and sparking brown button eyes that don't miss a thing. He is an outgoing boy who is eager to please his humans and is keen on treats. Terriers are smart and learn quickly, but need stimulation to keep them busy. He's not exactly a small dog - but he's sure smaller than a big dog - and would make a great family companion.

All dogs at the Humane Society of Eastern Carolina are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and on heartworm and flea prevention. All dogs 6 months or older are tested for heartworms. Adoptions come with a small bag of Hill's Science Diet food and a free one month trial of pet health insurance.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

McGruff, a Greenville Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) for sale in Greenville, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) dog from a breeder in Greenville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Greenville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Greenville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Greenville paves the way for another one to be saved.
