My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update.....We have very sad news about Scout. He has been diagnosed with bone cancer in his right front leg. Scout will no longer be available for adoption and our goal now will be to keep him comfortable and happy for as long as possible. He is currently on pain meds and doing well right now. Please keep "Scouty" in your thoughts. We will cherish every day we have with him. FOSTERED IN BLOOMINGTON...Scout is a big(118#), handsome 5 year old male. He has been in our program for a long time now. He came to us lacking socialization after having limited contact with people as a youngster. Scout's special need is that it takes him a long time (days, weeks, possibly months) to trust someone new. Scout will walk on leash and rides well in the car, but sometimes will put his brakes on and/or try to bolt if faced with something new and unfamiliar. He goes to the groomer and has made trips to public places to gain social experience. Scout has never gone potty in his inside kennel area and enjoys sleeping on a big soft bed. He is a big goof ball once you earn his trust and loves to have his tummy rubbed. Scout is best suited to an adult home able to continue giving him the training and experience he needs. He would do best in a home with a well socialized large breed female canine companion and it is unknown how he would do with cats. Secure fencing is required for safe outside time.

Please visit our web site at www.gprci.com for adoption information. Our adoption application can be completed on line or downloaded. A securely fenced yard is required for adoption of our rescues with very few exceptions. Great Pyrenees Rescue of Central Illinois is a 501 (c) (3) not for profit and is licensed by the State of Illinois.

Donations are always greatly appreciated and are used for the vet care, food and housing of the dogs in our rescue/sanctuary. Donations can be made at our website at www.gprci.com. via Paypal or donations can be mailed to: GPRCI, 15523 Old Colonial Rd Bloomington, IL 61705. Formal receipts for tax purposes are issued. Thank you for your support of rescue.
