Zoom's Story...
Zoom is a healthy, cuddly, friendly and lovable, eight-year-old female black cat looking for a loving guardian – preferably with her best friend Dexter. Zoom is an absolutely perfect, petite, sweet, and lovable eight-pound black female cat. Dexter is a slightly larger, active and fun 11-pound, male, mackeral tabby cat. These fabulous cats were left homeless when a couple divorced and neither could take the cats. These felines were lucky to find a foster home where they have proven to be well-behaved in a household with four other cats, two dogs, and humans of all ages including three very young children – aged one, three and five. Their foster mom says they are incredibly adaptable to new situations. They like to sleep in bed with their people, and when they’re not in a human bed, they like their cat beds or window sills. Dexter likes to get up high to survey his entire kingdom. They both come running when called, and purr up a storm when petted and loved. They use their litter box and scratching post like good cats, and love toys and catnip. Zoom and Dexter are healthy, spayed/neutered, and up-to-date on vaccines. Their adoption fee of $75 each or $100 as a pair benefits rescued pets. They come complete with their bed, food, bowls, litterbox and catnip. To meet and possibly adopt Zoom and/or Dexter, please contact their foster mom Kristen at sugibugi@aol.com or 708-679-4030.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zoom, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
