Sumo's Story...
Hi, I'm Sumo.

I'm just about 12 weeks old now and boy do I have a story to tell. I'm a Siamese kitten and my name was chosen because it is strong and Asian just like me.

Friends For Life got an email that I had been found on the grounds of a warehouse in the medical center and scooped up by some very kind people who work there. I was about 5 days old at the time. I was alone. Shortly after birth, my right rear leg had been severed by a weed whacker. I survived outside alone for several days and by the time anyone got to me I had maggots (lots of 'em...eeuuw) living in my body. I was feisty and screaming for something to eat, though ! I had such a will to live you wouldn't believe ! I was taken to a great surgeon who, despite my weighing only 8 ounces, performed successful surgery cleaning up and closing up my wounds.

Im walking and running just fine now--I started by kind of hopping and now as my leg gets stronger, I have a more steady gait. My foster Mom and Dad adore me and have certainly adhered to their family motto of "no kitten unspoiled !" My appetite is great and my sprit is huge. I'll be looking for a forever home soon. Will you be the one ?

See you soon,
Sumo

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sumo, a Houston Siamese kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Siamese for sale in Houston, or seeking a Siamese kitten from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Siamese breeders who help with Siamese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
