Fergie's Story...
Posted November 25, 2006 after searching for her "owners" for over a week.

What a WONDERFUL dog!
Fergie was found in the middle of the road very near the rescue director's home. Needless to say, she was happy to be "found." We're not sure how she came to be there, but we sure are glad to have her!
Fergie is DELIGHTFUL! While her coat indicates she has been an outside dog lately, we brought her in that first cold, rainy night, and she's been in ever since. She is housetrained, gets along GREAT with other dogs, and simply wants nothing more than a full belly and a warm corner with a soft pillow.
Fergie has been fully vetted, is heartworm negative, and is spayed. She was sufffering from a VERY poor diet, but is quickly making up for lost time!
We estimate Fergie to be 3-4 years old, but she might actually be younger than that. Fergie currently weighs 101 lbs, and would benefit from gaining 5-10 lbs. She is solid black with a white patch on her chest. Fergie is STRIKING!!
Fergie will be adopted as an inside dog, with access to a fully fenced yard for off-leash potty breaks.
LOCAL ADOPTIONS ONLY! Thank you for not asking to be the exception to the strict fence requirement or local only policy.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fergie, a Murfreesboro Great Dane dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Great Dane for sale in Murfreesboro, or seeking a Great Dane dog from a breeder in Murfreesboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Murfreesboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Murfreesboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Great Dane breeders who help with Great Dane rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Murfreesboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
