Hi, I’m Matthew, a beautiful blond athletic Golden playing machine! I’m about a year and a half old. They aren’t sure because they found me in the shelter. But AZGRC got me out of that place and their vet made me all better. I’m sort of comfy at my wonderful foster home with the other Goldens, but what I really want most in the world is to have a loving home of my own and people to love me because I have so much love to give.
My foster mom says that I’m a sweet, loving boy who learns really quickly. I learned potty training in a wink, not to counter surf in a flash, and not to be too bossy with the other furry kids here. I know sit and how to walk nicely on the leash. I come when I’m called and I’m really close to lying down on command. The two things I am really the best at are fetching a tennis ball and entertaining myself. My foster mom says that I’d be a fabulous Frisbee player. What I really do still need to learn is to let you know when I need to go out and to use the dog door! It is possible that I might learn not to chase the cat. And maybe I need to learn how to share a little bit better. I’ve never had anything before so I want it all!
If you have a swimming pool or a nice lake with a dock, please adopt me! I love Love LOVE swimming. You’ll melt when you see my big golden eyes, floppy lips, and big head. I would love to have some older kids to play with me and a nice person to follow around and snuggle up against. I’d even like to have another canine in the house as long as they understand that they’re going to have to teach me a thing or two!
** Our policy is that we will not place Golden Retrievers under the age of 3 with families that have children that are 3 or less years of age. Young Golden Retrievers can be very excitable around young children, so we recommend older Goldens for families with very young children.
