My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Steeler is just a big, loveable puppy. Even though he is still cautious in new circumstances he is always eager and willing to give it a try. He loves to go for walks or excursions in the car and is always 100% happy. He is a young dog approximately 8 - 10 mths old and weighs 41 lbs.

Steeler is good with people of all ages but he especially loves children. He is always happy and playful and never surly or aggressive in any way. He is always happy with whatever he is doing and his tail is always wagging. Steeler is also great with other dogs and just loves to play. He would be excellent as a second dog as long as the other dog was young and playful as well. He are no cats in his current foster home but we are sure that he could be taught to be respectful of them as well. He has been spending time at the barn and has gotten use to being around horses and no longer barks at them.

Steeler is currently crated for a few hours during the day and at night. He should probably be crated in his new home until he can be trusted fully. He is not destructive in the home but has a habit of collecting up shoes. He has no formal training and has no idea of traffic and would walk right out into traffic if let off leash. Steeler really is a big puppy and he will need someone willing to work on his training or take him to obedience classes to teach him all the skills he needs to be a capable companion. He does bark but quiets easily with a "no" but would probably not do well in an apartment setting. He would do best in a home with a backyard, kids to play with and a family that was interested in making him part of the "pack".

You won't get a dog with a more easy-going, happy and joyous personality. He is just a big teddy-bear of a dog who loves everyone and who is willing and eager to learn. He has a soft mouth, no prey drive and will make a wonderful family pet.
