Missie's Story...
UPDATE 7/14/2011: Missie has weaned her puppies and is now ready for a new home. She has been spayed and vaccinated and unfortunately she has tested positive for heartworms. Missie is currently symptom free and is undergoing treatment. Please help give this deserving mom a home. E-mail us for an application.
6/28/2011: Missie is a 6 year old Chihuahua weighing 10 lbs. She is a very sweet and gentle girl. Missie is black with white and tan markings. She was an owner surrender to rescue. The "owner" states she was a stray that he took care of until she raised her puppies. Once her puppies were 6 weeks old he turned her and the puppies over to rescue because his other dogs were attacking her. She has a few small sores on her nose to prove it. Missie just arrived today so she still needs to be spayed, microchipped, vet checked, vaccinated, and dewormed. We are currently taking applications for Missie or her puppies. There is 1 male puppy and 2 female puppies. The male weights 2.5 lbs and is tan with a black muzzle and white markings. The females are a blue fawn color. The larger has more white markings and weighs 1.9 lbs and the smallest one weighs 1.8 lbs. You can e-mail us at spcagainesville@hotmail.com for an adoption form. Our adoption fee is $100 for Massie and $150 for each puppy. We are also accepting foster applications for the puppies and Massie. Please e-mail us for more information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Missie, a Putnam Hall Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Putnam Hall, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Putnam Hall.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Putnam Hall already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Putnam Hall breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Putnam Hall paves the way for another one to be saved.
