Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

Mackey's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Mackey's Story...
Meet Mackey our 7-year-young purebred Golden Retriever who is looking for his forever home. This handsome guy is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet and is the ultimate lounging buddy! Mackey is great with other dogs, no matter their size, and doesn't mind cats at all. So, if you’re ready to give this amazing guy the loving home he deserves, please don’t wait any longer and contact Friends With Four Paws.

Our adoption fees are based on the age of the dog and range from $250 to $500. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, 30 days of pet insurance, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses.

All of our dogs are rescued from the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter, which is a high volume, high kill facility. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where it is kept for a minimum of 2 weeks for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. After the 2 week quarantine time they are spayed/neutered and fully vetted. They are then placed on the website. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested in it, we make arrangements with the waiting foster to pick the animal up from the airport to then meet with the potential adopter. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mackey, a Astoria Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Astoria, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Astoria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Astoria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Astoria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Astoria paves the way for another one to be saved.
