My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dora, now Darla, was adopted 8/3/11. Yippeee!

Dora is a red shepherd mix beautiful tan markings. She is about 16 weeks old & weighs 30 lbs. Her mom is a yellow shepherd mix weighing 45-50 lbs. They both along with sister Dia have the sweetest personalities. She knows simple commands like sit & is learning 'don't jump' and has a great start on leashwalking. Granted, she freezes up but once we squat down & say 'come' she will take more steps & the walk continues.

Dora & her family are super people oriented. She has been our shadow since checking into Camp. She follows us everywhere around the house, outside in the yard, & she is content to lie or sit at our feet when we're watching tv or on the computer. Dora has not learned to jump on the sofa like her sister Dia and, while we like it, we aren't encouraging it since her furever family may not want a big girl on the furniture. Dora loves to cuddle with us 2-legged ones but she is content to hang out on the doggy beds that lie around the home. Whatever one is empty, Dora will occupy. She is very submissive & will drop on the ground & roll onto her back if the other dogs intimidate her, growl at her, or if we say 'no' too harshly. Being so sensitive will require a positive & understanding owner who won't turn her into a shaking mess by being harsh with her.

Dora is kennel trained for night-time & work-time. Dora is working on her housetraining & is doing great however she is a submissive pee'er. This means when she gets excited or scared, she pees. When we come home or awake it is important for her to go immediately outside.

Dora & her mom were not found until the 5 days after Dia was found. She's figured out the doggie door, & she will need a schedule to get her adjusted once in her new home. She is so smart, we don't foresee housetraining to take long if her new family is diligent with keeping a schedule.

Our sweet little nugget is current on her vaccinations & is spayed. Please email CampChaos37206@gmail.com for an application if you are interested in meeting Dora!

All Camp Chaos dogs are indoor dogs with outdoor privileges. There are no exceptions. Thank you for understanding.

Adoption fee is $90. Thank you for wanting to share your home with one of our rescued pups!

If you are a parent adopting for your children, please remember we do pick the best home for our pups. If there are 2 applications that come in at the same time, for example, and one will be a better fit, that is the one we choose. Many parents pump up their children about getting a specific puppy, and it can be very sad for the child if the particular puppy isn't a good fit unbeknownst to them. We put this disclaimer here because a couple of parents have been upset when a home that used doggy daycare & had a fenced in yard was chosen over crate-all-day without a backyard. Peace.
