My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 06/26/2011: Keebler here...... I'm 7 lbs of lovin' and between 7-9 years old. I'm being fostered in Boynton Beach. OK..... seriously.... why haven't I been adopted yet? FM tell me all the time how cute I am. She also says I am so smart. I've trained my person quite well. (haha). She knows when I want to play, eat, or go potty outside (which I only do!).

I don't really bother with other dogs. I'm more interested in my person. I tolerate kids who treat me well. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to play with toys. Please make sure you have lots of toys for me. Well, a home with lots of love and lots of toys is all I need. Thank you for reading about me. Can I have a home now please???

UPDATED BIO 05/01/2011: HI, Keebler here again. I am a 6 and ½ pound yorkie boy who is somewhere between the ages of 7 and 9. Hard to tell because I had to have all my teeth pulled out because I was not properly taken care of. I have 3. I was eating a soft diet but since my new foster sister Nena got here I eat her kibble and wet food. I didn’t think I could do it, but I can. I am now completely house trained to go potty outside. I am taking flagyl for a little sensitive stomach and it works great. My FM doesn’t believe that I could be as old as 7 because I have the energy of a 4 year old. I love to walk ½ mile every morning and afternoon and sometimes I am so energetic my FM will put all the other dogs in the house and walk with me another ½ mile with no problem. I love to walk outside. I am not interested in being with other dogs and would love to get away from the 3 I live with now. They are ok, but my FM has taught me to love my people/person. I love when she picks me up and nuzzles me against my cheeks and neck. I don’t move a muscle so she will do it more. I never did this before, but I love to kiss her back now. I am still making my demands known to her and she knows by the time what I want. I definitely want to eat when I wake up in the morning after my walk and at 4:30 watch out. I bark until she feeds me and then I take a nap. I know that when FM puts her feet up I am going into my bed and taking a nap no matter when it is. I am usually asleep by 8 or 9 at night. FM wakes me up to go out before she goes to bed and then I curl right up with her and go right back to sleep until 6:30 or 7 in the morning. I am so good that the other night FM fell asleep early so we didn’t get to go out. I woke her up at 4 am which I NEVER do and reminded her that if she doesn’t take me out at night this is what she gets. Then we slept again until 8. I would like a person who will not leave me alone for too long at a time. I need someone to hold me and love me and feed me. I will give much more in return. My loyalty, my love and affection and my happiness, but I need a forever home to do it in. If you adopt me you won’t be sorry. I don’t really want to live with kids, but I do like my FM’s grandchildren when they come here. So here it is again. I want to live with one person, not fur babies, someone who likes to walk me a lot, will give me lots of love and a back yard would be a bonus. Thanks for reading my story.

UPDATED BIO 4/8/2011: Hi, I am Keebler. I am around 8 years old and weighs about 6 pounds. I am being fostered in Boynton Beach, FL My FM tells me I'mhandsome even when my tongue sticks out. I am housebroken but sometimes I do have an accident (usually only when I'm left alone for a long time). I don’t care about lightning or thunder (we found out last night when we had a BIG storm! I was so brave). I have only 3 teeth and am a little man, but my FM knows just what I am talking about when I bark or make noises at her. She always laughs because she knows I mean business. I either want her to play with me, and she does, or I am hungry, or I want to go out.

Just tonight I went up to FM while she was on the computer and barked at her. She pays attention right away because she loves to listen to me tell her what I want. I just stood there and barked. Right away FM said well if you want to play, go get a toy and she pointed to the toy box. I thought for a minute (FM could see my mind working) and then I got a toy. She said come a couple of times and I brought her the toy and then she threw it and I ran after it. FM went back to the computer and so after I dropped the toy and didn’t get it thrown again I had to bark at her again. She knew right away she wasn’t paying attention, picked up the toy and threw it again.. Hooray for FM! She learns quickly. :)

I don’t care at all about other dogs and would like my own yard and my own people to boss around (nicely). I would love someone my FM’s age who likes to take long walks (don’t even ask! But she is a Senior). I love to be outside walking and will walk a mile if allowed to. I know how to give affection and to ask for it too. I want to be your little favorite boy. I am healthy, but when I was rescued I was very sick. That's because I was found living on the street all by my lonesome! FM nursed me back to health and got me eating. I gained two pounds in the time I have been here, and I get more and more handsome every day. FM says I have more energy than some much younger dogs. So if you can find it in your heart to love a little older boy and get me away from the three other dogs that live here, I will be forever in your debt and love you forever.

UPDATED BIO 03/10/2011: Hi, My name is Keebler and I am a 9 year old 6 pound yorkie boy. I am being fostered in Boynton Beach, FL.

My FM says I can’t be 9 because I act like I am 4! My toofers were all but 3 pulled because nobody took care of them for me. Tonight I gave my FM a big surprise. We had company and FM was giving all the dogs a treat. When it came to my turn she just happened to say sit and my picture says it all. I sat down on my rear and sat up pretty. My mom was so surprised she fell right on the floor and grabbed the camera to see if I would do it again. And I did. She had no idea I could do that and I gave her my paw to shake too. Even tho I was thrown away, whoever had me when I was young took the time to train me a little bit. I am so proud of myself and my FM is so proud if me too. I still need a belly band if she is gone too long but I never have an accident in the house when she is here. (Today I made it 6 hours!)

I don’t care if there is another dog for me to play with or not. I like to chase toys if you throw them for me and I love to walk and walk. Mom says I walk faster than the younger dogs. She says someone will be very lucky to have a little boy like me. And she says I am so cute when my little tongue sticks out where my teeth are missing, especially when I am tired. I walk hard and far and take great naps. I love to eat too and I hope FM doesn’t let me get too chunky lol. Now that sees I can do tricks I will probably get more treats. Hooray for me!

UPDATED BIO 02/15/2011: Keebler is a adorable yorkie boy who is (according to our rescue vet) probably between the ages of 7 and 9 years and weighs 5.2 pounds today. He is now being fostered in Boynton Beach, FL. FM had this to say about Keebie:

"Keebler has been with me almost one week, and he has made great strides in that time. He only weighed 4.4 lbs when he came to live with me. Eating had been a problem. He was eating only human food and would only take it by hand. Now he eats Primal which is considered a “raw diet” and has a great appetite. He was so underweight that I was feeding him whenever he asked for it. (He actually most of the time asks when he wants to eat). Keebler only has 3 teeth as his gums were rotten with infection and his teeth had to be pulled. He appears to be housebroken, but I think he may have some separation issues (and who can blame him) because he will pee in his belly band when I go out. That is the only time he wears one. He was a very sick boy who is on the road to recovery.

He loves to walk and loves to nap, and this evening he starting chasing toys that I threw. He even brought them back to his bed to chew. He is a good boy and will adjust quickly to his new surroundings. He loves to sit on a lap and sleep at your head on a pillow. After 3 days here it was almost as if he didn’t remember being anyplace else! I know he'd love to be your lap baby!"

INITIAL BIO 2/4/2011: Keebler is a Cuuuuute 4 lb 11 oz little boy (emphasis on the CUTE) who is approximately 9 years old. He is being fostered in The Villages, FL.

Keebler was surrendered by his owner who had to move and could not take him with her. He is currently up to date on all vaccines, has been neutered, and had a dental in which he lost all but a few teeth. His little tongue only hangs out just a tiny bit on the side. He is TOO CUTE! Labwork and a urinalysis were also done.

Keebler loves his humans. He is a true lap baby and wants to be wherever the action is. If you're headed out, he wants part of the fun. Though the vet estimates age based on eyes and teeth, by his personality he is a much younger dog. He is spunky, loves to go for walks, and loves other dogs. He is 100% housetrained and only had one small accident in his foster home on the first night. He is a joy to foster and a sweet little companion.

If Keebler sounds like the guy for you, send us an email and fill out an adoption application, because this little loverboy is going to snatched up quickly! :)
