Duke - Adopted!'s Story...
Adopted . . .

This is Duke. His little face is so sweet and he just looks at you with those Beagle eyes that seem to say "I love you." Duke's entire body wiggles when you sing to him--he's such a happy boy! Duke is a one year old male Beagle that is mostly brown and black except for a patch of white on his chest and four little white feet. He and his "brother" Mookey were rescued after Animal Control removed them from their owner for failing to properly care for them. That was a very sad time in Duke's life, but he has put it all behind him now that he is safe.

Duke is up to date on routine vaccinations, already neutered, micro-chipped, house trained, crate trained and knows basic commands. He does well on a leash and likes other dogs and cats. He also enjoys snuggling under the covers of favorite human's bed!

This year, Duke's list for Santa is very short. All he really wants is a wonderful forever home. Duke and Mookey were raised together and it would be wonderful if they could find a forever home together too.

Please Note: Duke is not at a shelter. All Safe Hounds Beagles are cared for in a loving foster home. Please visit our web page to learn more about how to adopt this dog.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duke - Adopted!, a Blairstown Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in Blairstown, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in Blairstown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Blairstown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Blairstown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Blairstown paves the way for another one to be saved.
