Shelly's Story...
Hi gang! My name is Shelly and I'm what They call a "tortoiseshell" cat with white markings, whoever "They" are!? Anyway, I don't know how I got here, but I know I didn't do anything wrong. I'm a good cat. Honest! But I'd sure like to find a REAL home, you know, one with laps and stuff. I'm a youngster, just about 3, the perfect age to adopt, if you ask me!! Oh yeah, about the name. Don't blame me. I didn't name myself. I would not mind you renaming me something more creative, maybe like "Shorty" cuz I have a short tail. I don't know where it went, but obviously I didn't need it! Anyway, I'm a real love and have big yellow eyes, which look really cool with my "tortoiseshell" coloring! Come on in and ask to visit with me in our at Room. Im in Kennel #112 and ya gotta bend down to see me. I kinda hang back at first, but ask the girls to open my kennel door and you will be SO HAPPY to see how cool I am and how much fun I am! You won't be disappointed!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shelly, a El Cajon Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in El Cajon, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in El Cajon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in El Cajon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a El Cajon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in El Cajon paves the way for another one to be saved.
