found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.
Diesel ÃÂDÃÂ ÃÂ male, neutered, vaccinated to date, vet checked, ~6-7yr, ~90lbs, Border Collie mix (possibly Husky).
Diesel was in a sad state when he was surrendered from his private home. His ailing owner was not able to walk/exercise him and had obviously neglected his grooming for some time. Diesel is over all healthy and now groomed, he just needs to get on a good diet and loose the rolly pollie belly!
The first thing we did with this fella when we got him was whisk him away to be groomed, really, he couldnÃÂt even go to his foster home he was so matted and gross. Christine Kay at CKÃÂs Pet Grooming did a FANTSTIC job with Diesel. Diesel was matted everywhere from his ears to his tail. He was so filthy we cannot describe the smell and he was so matted it looked like he had two tails and someone had stuck cushions to his hips the mats were so big. He couldnÃÂt even lift his leg to go to the bathroom. It took Christine and her assistant about 3 hours to fully shave and bathe Diesel. He was so good for the pain staking process and had kisses for the ladies afterwards. DÃÂs nails had grown so long he was walking funny, his mats prevented him from being able to jog or run and he had a hard time laying on his side where the mats had built up on his hips. Unfortunately the only bit of his coat that could be salvaged was the little short bit on his head. He is actually black with a white chest and feet ÃÂ just like a Border Collie. He is going to have a nice, long, silky coat like the Collie when it all grows back in. ItÃÂs going to be *very* important for his new owner to keep up with nail clipping about every 6wks so his nails reform properly and his pads return to the normal size and he will need daily brushing when his long coat grows back in. ** WeÃÂve included one of the photos of Diesel as he was bring groomed. You can see the fur coming off in one large mat.**
YouÃÂre not going to find a sweeter, more patient and happy guy. Diesel is great with people, good with other dogs and doesnÃÂt mind cats, he is fine with respectful kids but has not grown up with kids so we prefer a home with older kids (7yrs+). He loves to go for walks and visit dog parks, he doesnÃÂt seem to know any commands (but he only just got here!) and is over all nicely mannered, doesnÃÂt jump up and will come when called. This is the kind of dog that will take little effort and no time to train, he is going to be very loyal and bond easily with his new care givers and will just naturally want to be with you. Diesel is house trained and does not use a crate, he is fine left alone for typical 9-5 work hours but weÃÂd love to see him go to a home with another dog if thatÃÂs the case. He is a loving and friendly guy always greeting with a tail wag and ÃÂdoggy smileÃÂ. He loves to be outdoorsy with his owners or inside taking it easy. D would really benefit from some good quality food and a good exercise routine to help him loose the extra weight. At this point he doesnÃÂt really needs snacks/treats and should be on a low cal dry food. This guy is ready to join any home that can take good care of him and give him tons of love and walks. You can just see in his eyes he is a kind soul with tons of spirit and love. He is best suited for a house with a fenced yard.
