My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION

MEET BRENNEN....an absolutely spectacular, tri-colored, 14.9 lb, 7 yr old Lhasa Apso...with one of the best temperaments we have ever seen in a Lhasa! The pictures taken of him are on my bed and in my office!!! He came from the Camarillo Shelter, labeled as a Shih Tzu -- because he really does have a bit of a Shih Tzu personality -- but he's 100% Lhasa! He came into my home and it was like he had been her forever....did not skip a beat! He does have the cutest underbite you have ever seen...no doubt he could use braces on them teefers!! He was adopted, in his home for a year, and the adopter just called and said she had to move into a place that didn't allow dogs because of her health. She gave us no other reason. Then, his foster mom wanted to adopt him while she was fosteringi other dogs and kept him out of adoptions for three months...and changed her mind!! It's really a good thing, because Brennen deserves better than that. We learned the truth was he was just inconvenient -- and her loss is our gain. This is a phenomenal dog. Sad, but happy for Brennen because he is an angel and will find a home in no time! And, so he did. But the family had a baby, and Brennen decided it was his job to protect the baby...and he got a little over protective. The family is broken hearted over giving him up, but they think it is best for the family. He is so loving...immediately gave us lots of kisses as soon as we picked him up! Brennen does have a real skip to his step, but after xrays and consultation, we have been advised that surgery is not recommended and he is in no pain....YAY! The best home for Brennen would be one where there is a retired couple with another dog who are looking for a pal for their dog and not left alone too often because he loves his family. He is the kind of dog who could definitely go anywhere with you...and just be a model citizen. He seems to be potty trained, but no guarantees! He definitely needs outside access. He gets along with everyone....we haven't cat tested him...but he's a mellow fellow who we believe would be great in almost any environment except with babies! He is fine left alone with another dog! He especially loves to play with puppies!! So, if you are looking for a turn-key dog....that's our Brennen!! One more thing....you better like getting kisses because he LOVES to give kisses!!!! This is a wonderful boy.
