Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.
If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.
Talia is a 7 year old basset hound who lost the only home she ever had when her family moved overseas. She is a happy, loving, easy-going girl who is hoping for a new family for her next 7 years! Like most bassets, Talia is a couch potato but does enjoy going for leisurely walks when it's not too hot or too cold. She gets along with kids over 5, other dogs and even cats--she wants them to play with her! Talia is dependably house trained and doesn't need to be crated. She is with a 501c3 non profit rescue. Her adoption fee is $125. She is spayed, heartworm negative and on prevention, up to date on shots and has a HomeAgain microchip.
To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. These criteria are not negotiable. If you do not meet these criteria, please choose another dog that will work out better for your family.
• Homeowners: Strongly preferred
• Status of adopter: Adult
• Previous dog owning experience: Preferred
• Age of children: 5 and up
• Another dog in the home: Not required
• Cat(s) in the home: Loves cats
• Fenced yard: Strongly preferred but can go out on a leash. Hounds will wander if not leashed or in a fence.
• Time alone on work days: Can be alone for a work day.
