Hershey's Story...
Hershey is a Sheltie mix (we think) who is brindle in color with a black mask and weighed 3.2 lbs on 12/17/06. Hershey and her siblings, Joey, Snoopy and Socks are the sweetest pups you'll ever meet! They are 6-7 weeks old and love to be held and cuddled (although they love to play too). These pups are exceptional -- of course they are adorable but they are also very social and love people! These playful puppies were abandoned in the garage of a house, which was still under construction in Overbrook, Kansas.

As HAHS now has several adoption locations, please contact Elise or Carl at 913-814-9891 or 816-898-5646 or email cbush86975@aol.com to discuss adoption procedures for HERSHEY!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hershey, a Overland Park Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Overland Park, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog puppy from a breeder in Overland Park.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Overland Park already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Overland Park breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Overland Park paves the way for another one to be saved.
