Shepter (oh, the names we give our animals) was found way west on 184th Street in Manhattan. This handsome 1-1/2 year old American Staffordshire mix (with perhaps a dash of boxer in him, given his distinctive muzzle), has unusual coloring. His fur coloring is hard to describe: his record says "sable," which might be a good description for his brown and orange coat. Whatever it is, it becomes him. Shepter knows some commands: he sits on cue, for example. He's easy to lead on a leash. He might look a toughie at first glance, but Shepter is all taffy inside. He's a calm boy. For example, one of our volunteers got her leash all tangled around his neck. Shepter calmly sat there while a Shelter staff worker untangled that holy mess. Shepter couldn't have been more patient. Drop by and meet our Shepter. He's a model citizen.
