Russo's Story...
Note: This wonderful pet is at a high kill shelter. Please contact us at 646 724 0597 ASAP if you are interested in adopting or fostering him.

Russo was adopted from the shelter some months ago, but his owner’s landlord claimed he was too big for the apartment. So, Russo needs another home and deserves a good one. Could it be yours? He is a German Shepherd mix, mild-mannered and only 10-months-old. As young and as intelligent as he is, Russo would train very well. He is friendly and playful. He would love to join your family. and would be forever devoted to you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Russo, a New York German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in New York, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
