My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Note: We urgently need a foster home for this sweet, beautiful creature. Please contact us at 646 724 0597 ASAP if you can help.

Nick was accidentally discovered in Nassau County living in a dark, dirty basement, stuck for over a year in a metal cage too small for him to stand or sit up in. He was rescued with a cat, kitten, and a rabbit, when the animals were confiscated by an organized rescue effort. The person who was harboring the animals is under investigation.

Nick was not used to light, being outside, being with other animals, toys, treats, or the touch of a loving human. For weeks after his rescue, Nick ate laying down ... which was how he spent most of his time in the metal cage. Nick has been in a foster/rescue boarding location in Suffolk County for several months getting used to being a normal dog.

Nick's foster mom has given up rescue boarding to start a full-time job, and has giving us only one week's notice to find Nick a new home. She must leave for out of town, and Nick has no place to go.

-Very loyal

-Loves to play, run, is OK with baths, and likes toys and treats
