Ellie's Story...
Ellie was rescued in April, pregnant with four babies, by a local shelter. She was lucky enough to have her healthy kittens in the home of a foster, was a wonderful mom, and is now ready for her forever home. She’s currently staying in a foster home where she loves the company of two very cat-friendly medium-sized dogs. Ellie loves to be wherever you are, follow you everywhere, and then stretch out alongside you. She is a very confident, very talkative, responsive, playful, smart, and friendly kitty and would be a wonderful companion in a home with older children and friendly dogs, but is very alpha with the other cats in her foster home, and would probably be best as an only cat. She loves her cat tree, her sisal and cardboard scratchers, and toys of all types. She is beautiful, all-black (with a few white hairs), sleek and shiny, with big gold eyes and a wonderful personality. She will be missed by her foster mom but really deserves her lasting and loving forever home.

This pet comes with a 30-day gift of Sheltercare pet insurance, the number one brand of pet insurance for adopted pets. Over 3 million adopted pets have already been insured!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ellie, a Keller Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Keller, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Keller.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Keller already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Keller breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Keller paves the way for another one to be saved.
