My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello to all the beagle lovers out there! My name is Claire. I am a 4 ½ month old pup. I came from Ohio, and now I am hanging out in the great state of PA. I traveled east to get to my foster home. What a crazy place this is, there is a big back yard, soft couches, and my very own crate. I am able to eat all the puppy food I can scarf down. I have played with little dogs and big dogs. I wear them out and they have to take a nap. I take a short rest, and I am ready to play some more. I am doing very well with my house training, the grown up dogs have shown me the ropes. I cry a bit when it is time to go in my crate, but I settle down after a few minutes. I sleep all night, and wake up when the action starts in the morning. I have met a bunch of kids, and I love them. I will need some children to play with, or another playful dog. I’m super friendly and get along with everyone I meet. When people meet me, they comment on my beautiful fur. I am considered a “Chocolate Beagle”, I have heard my foster mom say she could eat me up, goodness, I hope she is kidding! I am a good traveler in the car; everything is an adventure for me. Things here are definitely better than the shelter I came from, but I am ready to find my permanent home. My foster family is crazy about me, and would love to tell you more.

Puppy kisses and love, Claire

Please read our Standards for Adoption, the Beagle Camp Diaries and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog who will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements; and for families with very small children, puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets and hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.
