My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Mags. I'm a healthy, 2 yr. old, spayed, 10 pound, white & tan Shih Tzu looking for a wonderful forever home. I'm in Southeastern Virginia right now, but came to East Coast Asian Dog Rescue by way of San Antonio, TX. My owner passed away a few weeks ago and her daughter took me to Lexington, Va. She was not able to keep me because she already had three dogs and her landlord wouldn't allow me to stay. All my veterinary records were lost in my move, so my foster parents had to get me completely up to date on all of my vaccinations. I have a slight umbilical hernia on my tummy, but the vet says it is nothing to worry about. My foster parents are going to check with another vet just to be sure.

My foster Mom and Dad have three dogs (two Pekes and one Shih Tzu). I love to play with all of them - as well as their cat. They have not had me around small children, so I have not shown them if I like kids or not. I'm a very happy girl, housebroken, like to play with a small ball, and love to curl up on you and snuggle. I like to walk and am good on a leash, but I am scared of big dogs and want to be picked up when they are around.

P. S. My foster Mom has found out that I don't like for her to sing to me - it freaks me out! She really wishes that I could tell her why cause she sings all the time!

Mags is being fostered in Suffolk, VA and her asking adoption fee is $300.

Please read about adopting from us on our home page by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.

NOTE: Due to the volatile price of gas, getting multiple volunteers to help with long distance transporting is no longer feasible. We have listed the town and state where each dog is being fostered. Please consider how far you are willing to travel when filling out the application. The foster home will usually volunteer to help with transport for a reasonable distance.
