Ruff Ruff! My name is Nathan
|Breed:||Beagle||Color:||White - With Tan, Yellow Or Fawn||Age:||Senior|
|Size:||Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less||Sex:||Male||ID#:||2287126|
I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.
Nathan was a scrawny little guy when we got him from animal services. He has gained abour 5 lbs since with us and still needs 1 or 2 more. We have enjoyed bulking him up. He loves to eat, as you might imagine with a Beagle, so we will watch him closely now that we are near his goal so that we do not tip his weight in the wrong direction. Nathan had to have his left eye removed due to a tumor. He is UTD on his shots, had a dental and was also neutered since we have had him. He is a very sweet Beagle boy, but is a bit independant. This just means he is not needing to be near you all the time like some Beagles I know!
He does enjoying sleeping on the beds at the bottom if he has a choice. I have not heard one bark from him yet, but imagine there is a bark and howl waiting inside him ot come out. He enjoys all the other hounds here, although playing is not his thing.
Nathan would do well with a quiet home and someone to cal his own and to love!

Rescue Group Info...
All too many times, dogs of advanced years are rejected by their owners, given up to a shelter or passed around when an owner is no longer able to care for them. Senior Houndsabound, a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to the rescue and lifelong care of senior Bassets and Beagles abandoned by their families or left in shelters.
Senior Houndsabound wants to help when senior dogs are left in cages or ignored in a yard. No hound should be left to spend their golden years ignored or abandoned. More often than not, these hounds come to us in poor condition and helping them is challenging, costly, yet worth every bit of time, energy and funding. We will continue to do our very best to see that these forgotten and abandoned hounds’ final years are happy, peaceful, and that they feel safe.
Our ultimate goal is to know that on that day, when these senior hounds go to cross to the Rainbow Bridge, they will know that they were very much loved.
We mainly do private meet ups but do appear at some local adoption events in the Orlando and Tampa area.
Our adoption fee is usually $100 to 150, based on the age of the dog. We appreciate an initial call or e-mail expressing interest and then we require a phone interview and a home visit. Both of these usually occur within days of the initial contact. We require that our dogs are adopted to families that promise to keep them in doors for the remainder of their lives and to treat them kindly.
We serve the Orlando and Tampa areas and allow adoptions to anywhere in FL.
