Miller's Story...
It's Miller Time!!! Miller is a very sweet Black Lab mix that has been in Barkin Rescue's care since he was 4 weeks old when himself and his littermates were found in a soggy beer case in a dumpster. He is now a healthy and robust 11 week old puppy. Miller is very unique...he's the only one in his litter with a coarse, wirey coat. It is difficult to see in the pictures...but in person it is simply adorable. When fully grown, we expect he will be a wire haired dog. Foster folks joke that he looks like he put his paw in an electrical socket! The saying in his foster home has been ..."and then there's Miller!" He has been the last to catch on to things and last to try new things. Since being very tiny, he was always the last to want to go outside, but now he loves playing outdoors and is usually the last to want to come back in! He knows basic commands(sit, come, no bite, no chew), walks well on a leash and is crate trained. He is also doing fantastic with housetraining. As it is with most Labs, he is very food motivated and responds well to treat/reward training. Foster mom finds him easier to train. He gets along well with large dogs and loves meeting new people, and loves to get all sorts of attention. An adopter will have to sign a contract promising to get Miller neutered as soon as he turns 6 months old or sooner if a vet in your area will do earlier alterations. He is up to date with vaccines and is thoroughly dewormed. If you are interested in coming to meet 'FUZZ MAN' himself in person...please email with an introduction and then an application can be sent. An adoption fee of $200 applies.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Miller, a London Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in London, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in London.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in London already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a London breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in London paves the way for another one to be saved.
