Chester's Story...
Chester is a handsome, friendly, and sweet one-year-old, 65-pound, black and white, male, Border Collie/English Pointer-mix looking for a loving guardian. Chester is a fantastic dog who was found as a stray, but is full of kisses and tail wags. He loves people and gets along with other dogs. He doesn’t know any formal commands yet, but can be easily lured into a sit with a treat. He takes treats gently from your fingers and seems eager to please. He has not yet been cat tested. Chester is healthy, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro-chipped and heartworm-tested. To meet and possibly adopt him, please contact Ray at colonelchisholm@sbcglobal.net or 847-639-6801. His adoption fee of $200 benefits rescued dogs. He is staying at a kennel in Union, Illinois.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chester, a Chicago Border Collie/Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Pointer for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Border Collie/Pointer dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Pointer breeders who help with Border Collie/Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
