My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Who can resist this pretty face !! This is the wonderful Miss Celie. I found Miss Celie in a rural shelter in Northern Alabama where she had languished for months with few potential adopters. She was scheduled to be euthanized. Herding dogs are not popular in this area I was told. She looked like she had given up hope in her shelter picture and she stole my heart. I could not have made a better choice, as she is a terrific companion dog.

Miss Celie is approximately 4 yrs. old and is up to date on all of her vetting, spayed and is Heartworm Negative. She weighs 37 lbs. She adores all people and children. She does very well with other dogs and with cats she could use alittle work ,but she trains easily as she is very very smart! She is learning to leave kitties alone.

Celie has impeccable house manners! I have not crated her when I am gone and she has been perfect here with my own dogs. She never jumps on people and never even wants to get on the couch even though my own spoiled dogs do! No counter surfing, no chewing on anything inappropriate ! Perfect.

Celie enjoys toys and will entertain herself in the yard with a ball tossing and catching it for herself. She dosen't even want you to throw it for her! She loves to swim and to go for boat and car rides. Celie is completely unreactive to loud noises and busy children. In our care here she has become a very calm and confident dog and she accepts all situations with ease. She enjoys guarding the property and patrols the yard. She is not a barker, but will let you know with soft barks if something is amiss.

When Celie is happy to see you, her body twists back and forth, her tail spins around like a propeller while she smiles and sneezes. All at the same time. She will make you laugh with her happy self. Miss Celie will make an excellent family or companion dog for anyone, including elderly people if they are semi-active and would give her walks and take her places. She is not high energy, she just loves to be with you. She would also do fine as a single dog or with other dogs in the home.

I have no idea why Celie was a stray in Alabama and why no one was looking for her, as she is such a fine and loving character who deserves the very best of homes. If you feel you can offer Celie a great life please contact us. Her adoption fee is $150
