Dewey PENDING's Story...

no phone calls please fill out application if serious

Dewey is 6 months old, born JAN, 15th, 2011

Dewey is a fantastic dog. He is easy going, happy, and well mannered, especially for a puppy. He loves to be with me, but plays well with other dogs and gets along well with my cat too. He is very sweet and loving. You can take him anywhere. He is friendly and social. He is used to sleeping in a crate at night and never makes a sound.
He has not had an accident in the house for over a month and uses the pet door to the back patio to go out. I think he would be a great dog for anyone, except that he wouldn’t do well if left alone without a person or another dog for company over long periods of time.

so please only apply if you have time, kids over 8 yrs that are respectful to animals and someone home, must have at least another dog at home, he's used to a small dog play buddy he has now

adult home with another small dog would be fine

young retired, or stay at home mom

we are looking for breed or Terrier experienced family and someone MUST be home during the day, there must be a secure fenced yard we will not adopt him to apartments or a yard without fencing, he's not a ranch or farm dog

from current caretaker

I think Dewey would do well with a family with children or just adults. He probably wouldn’t have to have another dog around, but he loves to play with the other small dog that we have and he loves to go next door and play with our neighbors lab cross. He has been good with every dog he has met. He also plays with our cat. He may have considered chasing him at first, but our cat has been around dogs and doesn’t run from them. As much as he likes to play and the two dogs play a lot, he is really people connected, especially to me. Where the other dog will take off if he gets out and not look back, Dewey keeps an eye on me and likes to know where I am. He generally follows me around the house and lays down wherever I am. He is playful and likes to go for walks, but is much calmer than the Fox Terrier-Chihuahua cross that we have. He needs some exercise, but not as much as most terriers. I think the best home would be one that has people and another dog he could play with, especially if the people are going to be gone much. What I think he would like the most is if he could be with someone most of the time. I think it would be best if he had a backyard to go out to as well.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dewey PENDING, a Sacramento Cairn Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cairn Terrier for sale in Sacramento, or seeking a Cairn Terrier puppy from a breeder in Sacramento.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Sacramento already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Sacramento breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cairn Terrier breeders who help with Cairn Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Sacramento paves the way for another one to be saved.
