Christine is best friends with Lizzy. Please adopt both of them so they can stay together!
I am already spayed.
Isn't this a picture of contentment? Christine is 3 years old and was found by a kind person who brought her to us. It turned out she was pregnant. She's had her babies and is ready for her own home too. She has a sweet disposition and would make a good family pet. UPDATE: This lovely cat is still needing a home. She is such a sweetie that I couldn't help making another plea on her behalf. She is almost five years old. If you're thinking of adopting a cat, please consider this one. She's a gem. You can usually find Christine in one of two places: either in a basket in front of the big viewing window or on the countertop with her friends, Lizzy and Simon, waiting for the faucet to be turned on at the at the sink. She has beautiful green eyes and a quiet disposition.
This pet comes with a 30-day gift of Sheltercare pet insurance, the number one brand of pet insurance for adopted pets. Over 3 million adopted pets have already been insured!

Fox Valley Helping Paws Animal Welfare Association, a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization, was founded in 1969. Helping Paws is a no-kill animal shelter for stray and abandoned dogs and cats in McHenry County and surrounding areas. The animals are provided a sanctuary where they receive medical care, spaying or neutering, daily care and love, and the opportunity to be adopted by a responsible owner.

The shelter is open 7 days from noon until 4:00 pm with late nights on Tuesday and Thursday until 7:00 pm
Our Adoption Process...
Adoption Procedure If you are interested in adopting an animal, you must first fill out a pre-adoption form (see below) so that we can match the right family to the right pet. Before a dog can be adopted, a second visit to the shelter is required. It is important that everyone in your family meets the new dog and if you already have a dog that a meet and greet is arranged to make sure the dogs will get along. It is also important that you are entirely sure that this is the right decision for you and your family. Helping Paws' primary concern is the well being of all our loving animals entrusted to our care. Our Adoption Policies list the requirements we stand by to ensure the animals are adopted into loving, responsible homes. Adoption forms are available at the shelter; they are not available on the website.
Adoption Fees Dogs: $350.00 8 weeks up to 1 year $300.00 1 year through 7 years $250.00 Over 7 years 7 years and over available for Senior-to-Senior (adopter must be 65 or older to have adoption fee waived)
