Callie's Story...
Meet Callie! This Australian Cattle Dog/Terrier mix is currently in search of a forever home. Just a few weeks ago, Callie’s future wasn’t looking too bright. Luckily, she found her way to ARF and now has a second chance at life. Just 7 months old, Callie had never known all of the wonderful things that life has to offer for a little dog. She had never been held or cuddled and she had no idea what it meant to play. As a result, she may be timid around people, sometimes preferring to watch them from a distance. But she is starting to realize that life doesn't have to be so scary. In fact, she has discovered that it's actually nice to be cuddled and given treats. Ever so slowly, Callie is starting to come out of her shell and we are starting to see the affectionate, happy little dog that she will become. Now it's time for her to take that next step – to find a forever family.

While Callie is learning to love people, she is still a bit picky about her canine companions. As a result, she may do best as the only dog her new home. Although, she may be willing to make an exception if the other dog in the home were laid-back and about her size. Above all, Callie just wants to feel safe, loved, and to know that she will never be alone again. She will make a perfect little companion, if someone will give her the chance.

Callie may not have a family of her own right now, but she knows there is one out there – just for her. If you would like to make Callie's dreams come true, contact her adoption consultant, Paula, at 440-668-6745 or paulafoster4arf@gmail.com for more information. Callie is in a foster home, so Lee will set up a visit. Callie can’t wait to meet her new family!

** The adoption fee helps to cover the general veterinarian check-up, heartworm test, spay/neuter, basic vaccinations, rabies vaccination, worming, flea preventative, and microchip that all dogs adopted through Berea ARF receive prior to going into their new home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Callie, a Berea Australian Cattle Dog/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Berea, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Berea.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berea already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berea breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berea paves the way for another one to be saved.
