I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with dogs, and good with cats.
We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficultwe are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.
Spirit is a precious little shih tzu mix who must have had a rough life before coming into rescue. He is about 4 years old and a bit plump at 16 pounds. Spirit is quiet, gentle, and very loving. His favorite place is on a lap where he is making up for lost time in getting his share of petting and love. Spirit is good with teens and adults, cats, and other gentle dogs of any size. He is dependably house trained and doesn't need to be crated. If you are looking for a lovable little companion, please check out Spirit! He came to rescue without any vetting and was matted to the skin. He is with a 501c3 non profit rescue. Spirit's veterinary bill was $725 and his adoption fee is $300. He is heartworm negative and on prevention, updated on all immunizations and worming, neutered, had a full (and expensive) dental, professional grooming, flea/tick prevention and HomeAgain microchip. His double ear infections were also treated.
To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. These criteria are not negotiable. If you do not meet these criteria, please choose another dog that will work out better for your family.
