Maya's Story...
Medical Hold
When Eva went to East Valley to check out this dog for Sheltie Rescue, she realized she wasn't a Sheltie or a Collie but her temperament was so friendly and happy she pulled her anyway!! It was the day before she was to be put to sleep. She had a tumor on her toe, so she went directly to the vet. Her bloodwork was great so her tumor was removed and a dental done. Maya is still super thin so needs to gain weight before being spayed....she will eventually be about 50#. Maya is a tri color with splashes of blue merle throughout her coat. She is stunning! We are guessing she is Border Collie and Aussie but of the laid back version who loves attention and people. Everyone LOVES this dog!!! Maybe we'll change our rescue's name to Southland Sometimes Collie Rescue! Maya is a doll and will make a great addition to your family. She should be ready for adoption by August 23. Don't miss out on this dog. Email for an application and to get approved.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maya, a Trabuco Canyon Border Collie/Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd for sale in Trabuco Canyon, or seeking a Border Collie/Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Trabuco Canyon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Trabuco Canyon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Trabuco Canyon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Border Collie/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Trabuco Canyon paves the way for another one to be saved.
