My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Squint aka Goofy – This beautiful boy is an English Coonhound and had been in a small rural, high-kill shelter for way too long. His time was up. When the word got out that he was on the ‘PTS’ list, the shelter volunteers scurried and frantically got him pulled and into a great foster home, then contacted Lucky Lab Rescue (even though he is not a lab) for help. He is such a handsome boy with the most awesome personality that everyone had fallen in love with him and just could not let him die. We are glad that he didn’t. Squint is about 1 year old and is a very active and loving guy. He gets along great with all of his foster siblings and he is good with children. He was an owner-surrender at the shelter - the owner got him for hunting "but, he ain’t worth a damn as a huntin' dog". Actually, he is a very loving dog. He got the name Squint because he squints his eyes when you pet him. What a clown! His foster mom has named him ‘Goofy’. He has won a lot of hearts already and he is sure to win yours. He would love nothing more than to have a wonderful home and a family to call his own. He will need some obedience training and would definitely be the ‘top-dog’ in his class.
Squint is neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on all vaccinations including rabies. He is micro chipped and has been kept on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. If you are interested in hearing more about this really awesome boy, please fill out an online application and request him on the notes section.
