My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dearest Human,

My name is Millie and I am an absolutely adorable 3 year-old fawn-colored English Mastiff who is seeking a very loving person or family to adopt me. For your benefit, I have enclosed a photo of myself.

At the risk of sounding vain, the humans with whom I am staying tell me I am smart, sweet, sensitive, well- behaved, calm and beautiful. I believe I am considered to be a real “catch” for the type of human who is looking for my type of dog. Because I am currently being fostered by humans who adore me and only want the best for me, if you do decide to adopt me, my humans will want to know about you as well. In addition, we request a $250 donation to Family Dogs New Life.

Before we go further, here's some additional information you should know about me:

I am spayed, three years old (October), 120 pounds and 26 inches at the shoulder, so I tend to be on the smaller side for my large breed.

I am very loyal and loving -- I tend to be rather shy and reserved at first with both humans and other dogs.
But around those humans I consider my friends, you will learn I am sensitive and playful, with a gentle spirit and a cute sense of humor!, I will thrive with a family who will assure me that I will be safe and secure as an important family member for the rest of my life.

I thrive on positive attention and reinforcement. I have been through some turmoil in my short life, (my story is very interesting) so please understand I am in need of extra TLC. You will get amazing results and response from me when you give me praise, affection and lavish compliments. I need reassurance that the world isn't as scary as I previously thought.

I am very good with kids and other animals. Despite a healthy appetite, I am not territorial about my food or treats

My favorite activities include walks and long naps -- and I recently discovered I love the beach!

I am well-trained--I respond well to verbal commands (stay, wait, leave it, heel) and although I walk very well on a leash, I am well-behaved off-leash too, when appropriate. I am content to sleep on my bed as I have been trained that furniture is only appropriate for humans. I do not steal food, tear things up and I do not snore. Please note that I drool a little bit after drinking water and exercise so towel-readiness is a must.

If I sound like I am the kind of girl that might be a good addition to your home, please contact my devoted humans for an interview.
