Francesca's Story...
FRANCESCA (Frankie) is a 6-month-old piebald Dachshund who had been blue-lined by KHS for euthanasia. She is an adorable little girl with a clown personality and will stay glued to your side. She is working on her house-breaking, crate training and separation anxiety and has made remarkable progress in a week’s time with all three. Frankie likes to sleep with her foster parents and stays put all night. She will keep you laughing with her comical antics, but does have to be monitored because she will snatch things that don’t belong to her. She gets along well with other dogs and cats and people once she has been properly introduced. Frankie is a good little watchdog who barks at strangers and at strange noises.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Francesca, a Wichita Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Wichita, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Wichita.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wichita already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wichita breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wichita paves the way for another one to be saved.
