Quiglie's Story...
My name is Quiglie, and as you can see, I am a very handsome Border Collie cross. I just came into High Sierra Animal Rescue because my family moved and could not take me with them. I don't understand how I could have ended up in a shelter, but then the shelters are full of dogs like me wondering why they are there too. I was used to being an inside dog and companion, and my former family did say that I am housebroken, good with other dogs, and even good with cats! I do love, love, love, to play fetch, especially with tennis balls. Being a Border Collie, I have a "busy" personality, so I would do well with an active family. If you have a few tennis balls that need to played with by a loyal and devoted companion, then call High Sierra Animal Rescue and ask about me!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Quiglie, a Portola Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Portola, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Portola.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portola already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portola breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portola paves the way for another one to be saved.
