My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ZULY AND SOLITO: Zuly and Solito were surrendered to a local shelter almost three months ago. As is the case with most shelter dogs, they were there through no fault of their own. Their owner had open heart surgery and is no longer able to care for his beloved dogs. Getting one dog adopted is hard enough, but finding the right person for two dogs is a special challenge.

We're working extra hard to find that special home for Zuly AND Solito. They are devoted to each other, often sharing separate ends of the same bone or running side by side in the yard with their giant stuffed bunny. Zuly (age 3), the tiny white Chihuahua mix, enjoys grooming her BFF, devoting as much time as it takes to clean each and every one of his paw pads. She’s the sparkplug in this pair. Solito (age 5) is more shy and wary than his tiny friend, but he'll come around after he spends time with you. His markings are beautiful, sometimes forming symmetrical patterns. His legs are as long as Zuly's are short! Together, they snooze, they play, they run full tilt, they share toys, and they look to each other for comfort. They are charming and hilarious. These two are excellent company.

Zuly and Solito spent two months in a shelter: dogs barking, hard floors, many strangers and nothing but uncertainty. At this moment, they're snoozing on a sofa, side by side in a foster home. They're happy, loved, and safe for now, but they need their own people to love in their own forever home. In a perfect world, Zuly and Solito would remain lifelong buddies. We hope they can snuggle on into the future. That way, they could go to sleep each night, Zuly's head on Solito's tummy, and wake up the next day, side by side.
