Isabelle's Story...
Sweet Isabelle is one of the gentlest pit mixes we have come across. She is petite in size, with small bones (and a small head) which give her a resemblance to the show-prized King Charles Spaniel. On walks, she constantly looks to her walker for direction, and when she sees an opportunity, will put her paws lightly upon your legs in search of affection, which she always returns in kind (and then some). Isabelle seems not to have had much leash training, but she is quickly getting used to walking beside her human companion, demonstrating that pit intelligence and willingness to please. Isabelle is a bit selective about the dogs she keeps company with: she prefers the gentler, less aggressive types. Isabelle has proven herself by demonstrating age-appropriate socialization when paired with a mild tempered male.

Act quickly to adopt Isabelle. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Isabelle, a Berkeley American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Berkeley, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Berkeley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berkeley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berkeley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berkeley paves the way for another one to be saved.
