Sprocket's Story...
ADOPTION PENDING !!!!!!Looking for a great pup? Meet Sprocket! He is a beautiful, unique-looking Sheltland Sheepdog and/or Collie mix boy who just arrived from an overburdened high kill Southern Indiana animal shelter. How this little one lost his way we will never know, but we're so glad to be able to give him a second chance at life ~ he's an awesome dog. He is very social, happy, playful and sweet. Sprocket is about 8 months old and weights in at about 30 pounds. He is just an all around wonderful family dog and is being fostered with two children and an adult male Beagle mix. He is GREAT with other dogs and would make someone a wonderful companion. If you think you can give Sprocket a lifetime of love, care and gentle guidance, please contact Animal Heartline at (630) 341-3411. We are a small group of caring volunteers and home checks are a requisite for adoption, so please, local adoptions only (60 miles or thereabouts of Chicago/Naperville). Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sprocket, a Lombard Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie for sale in Lombard, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie puppy from a breeder in Lombard.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lombard already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lombard breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lombard paves the way for another one to be saved.
