Rat terriers are a lively breed, intelligent and curious breed that needs lots of mental stimulation, but not necessarily a lot of chaos. They tend to be sensitive dogs that can get spooked by loud noises or unexpected activity or movements, and they can take some time to warm up to strangers. While they have a definite feisty terrier personality, they also have an "off switch" and love lounging on the sofa in a lap as much as tearing about the yard. This, of course, is a general overview of the breed, and Peanut may not fit the mold - it's too early to tell.
