Cookie's Story...
Cookie is an extremely friendly and super sweet 2-year-old, 45-pound, fawn and white Pit Bull Terrier-mix looking for a loving guardian. Cookie was found as a stray and was to be euthanized at a high kill shelter before thankfully being saved by Lucky Dog! It is obvious she was someones pet at some point as she is very smart and will sit on command and take treats ever so gently from your fingers. She also walks beautifully on leash, and is good with other friendly dogs. Cookie would make a wonderful addition to any family that would love to have a loving and loyal companion!

Cookie is very healthy, micro-chipped, and up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines. She was heartworm positive upon arriving into rescue, but has been treated and is now very healthy. To meet and possibly adopt Cookie, please contact Melia at Her adoption donation of $200 benefits the rescued dogs of Lucky Dog Rescue. She is currently living in a foster home in Chicagoland and would love to find a forever home to call her own!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cookie, a Chicago Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier/American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
