Chrome (needs a name!)'s Story...
This pretty little girl is one of the nurse mare foals SHARE rescued from Kentucky. She's a beautiful little thing with chrome to spare and will grow up to be a great horse. She earned the gold star at the foals first hoof trim, by being almost perfectly behaved for the farrier. She picks up her feet and accepts fly spray very nicely.

You can read about her progress on her Updates page.

She will be able to go to her forever home in September 2011, when she is 6 months old. Her adoption fee will be $700.

Adopters must be 21 or older, if you are under 18, please have a parent contact us as our adoption agreement is a legal agreement which must be made with an adult. We do welcome volunteers of any age, those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. For more information visit our website at http://www.s-h-a-r-e.net to review our Adoption Requirements or fill out an Application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chrome (needs a name!), a Dewey Quarterhorse was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Quarterhorse for sale in Dewey, or seeking a Quarterhorse from a breeder in Dewey.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dewey already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dewey breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Quarterhorse breeders who help with Quarterhorse rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dewey paves the way for another one to be saved.
