Annie's Story...
DOB 3/2010

Sweetie Pie is a very loving puppy. She is very intelligent, eager to learn, and responds well to training.

As is typical of her breeding, she has a lot of energy, and will need to be adopted by someone who will give her plenty of regular walks and exercise. She would probably excel at something like Agility Training.

Like many Heelers, she tends to "herd" and maybe be best as an only dog, since some dogs don't enjoy being herded! And for the same reason, she would do best in a home with no very young children; around ages 10 and up should be fine.

Here's what Sweetie Pie's foster mom has to say about her:

"She is working on leash walking, she knows how to sit and I am continuing w/recall training. She does nip at fingers and clothing, we are working on correcting that behavior. She has lots of energy and is very loving!"

Sweetie Pie is spayed, vaccinated, on heartworm prevention, microchipped, housebroken and ready for her new home!

This pet comes with a 30-day gift of Sheltercare pet insurance, the number one brand of pet insurance for adopted pets. Over 3 million adopted pets have already been insured!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Annie, a Schertz Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd for sale in Schertz, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd puppy from a breeder in Schertz.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Schertz already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Schertz breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Schertz paves the way for another one to be saved.
