Giavanna-"Gia"'s Story...
This sweet girl was rescued from being dumped by people that used her for breeding and "bait" although she is barely grown herself. She is slightly over 1 years old and very sweet. She has not experienced much love throughout her short life and has many healed scars on her face, head and neck. "Gia" has been around other dogs and is good with smaller dogs and cats, however she is timid and slightly fearful around bigger or more "pushy" dogs. She is currently being fostered and needs a forever home that is quiet and can give her all the attention that she needs. She is vaccinated and will be spayed on 8/30/11 and would love to go to a home that can show her all the love she deserves. She is kind of shy and very calm-- she is not at all aggressive and loves car rides and she is housebroken and walks well on leash . You can read the story of her rescue on our Face Book page.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Giavanna-"Gia", a Philadelphia American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever for sale in Philadelphia, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Philadelphia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Philadelphia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Philadelphia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Philadelphia paves the way for another one to be saved.
