My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ever hear those stories that begin with "a funny thing happened on my way to the...." ? That is kind of how mine begins. I was living on my own (which, by the way, kittens should avoid if at all possible) and as I was crossing the street (which, by the way, is another thing kittens should kittens should never do) when a thump sent me rolling off the side of the road !

The next thing I knew a lady was picking me up and I was at a veterinarian's office. The lady did not have any money but I needed treatment. The veterinarian office called Friends for Life and ask if they would pay for my treatment and put me up for adoption. I'm not sure what money is but it seems more important to some people than others. For my part, I was just happy to have a warm bed and something to eat.

Friends for Life took me in and I went to see their veterinarian. She took a lot of funny pictures of me with little or no decent color in them at all. Annie Leibowitz, she's not. But they determined from them that none of my bones are hurt and that I was just bruised up pretty badly.

I'm learning about toys and think that it is very cool to not have to worry about things like eating and surviving. I never really had leisure time before but now I'm learning that it is a good thing.

Maybe if you drop by and see me I can come to your house and remind you that there is more to life than eating and surviving. There are feathers on a stick and jingly mouse toys!

Hope to see you soon,
Phoenix
