Zip's Info...

Breed: American Shorthair Color: White Age: Adult
Sex: Male Hair: Short
Zip's Story...
Zip and Eileen are 4 1/2 years old. They were adopted a year apart but to look at them here, you would never know it. Their family was hit by the economic times and are having to give up their apartment and move in with family. Unfortunately that family would not allow Zip and Eileen to move in with them. We would like for them to be adopted together ( two for the price of one). They are current on their shots and are FIV and FeLV negative.

About Our Rescue Group...
FuRR, Feline Rescue & Rehome is a non-profit rescue organization whose mission is to rescue abandoned, abused cats and those in danger of being euthanized in shelters. We focus on finding safe and loving homes for cats and kittens and promote the sterilization of animals in an effort to stop the overpopulation and suffering.
Come Meet Our Pets...
All of our foster cats are living in homes of our volunteers who setup their own individual visiting schedules. FuRR does setup adoption events at Pet Smart in North Little Rock every Sunday from 12:30 pm - 5:00 pm, CT.
Our Adoption Process...
Adoption applications are required, reviewed and must be approved by the foster home prior to adoption contract completion. FuRR strives to place our foster cats in homes best suited for their individual personalities and needs so their new home will be their "forever home". We do require the new owner to allow home visits, if necessary and follow-ups a few months after the adoption and to contact FuRR if, at any time, they are unable to keep the cat so she/he can be returned to our program. Our adoption fee is $75 for kittens under the age of 6 months and $60 for cats over 6 months old. This fee includes basic vet care, sterilization and testing. Travel costs for out-of-state adoptions may not be covered by FuRR.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zip, a Little Rock American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Little Rock, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Little Rock.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Little Rock already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Little Rock breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Little Rock paves the way for another one to be saved.
