Riley's Story...
Riley's adoption fee is $225.

My name is Riley and I am a 9 year old male Dachshund that weighs about 15 pounds. I’m neutered, up to date on vaccines, micro chipped, and I recently had a dental too. I’m looking for an active home as I have a lot of energy and love to go for multiple walks a day and enjoy being involved in family life. My prey instinct is high and I like to be the Alpha male. This can cause me to be somewhat assertive when meeting some other dogs, but I am working on becoming more accepting of all dogs. I love all people of all ages and will cuddle beside you on the sofa for the afternoon. I am comfortable being left alone and I will not damage anything in your home. I would love to hear from you if you think we’d be a good match – I have lots of love to share.

This pet comes with a 30-day gift of Sheltercare pet insurance, the number one brand of pet insurance for adopted pets. Over 3 million adopted pets have already been insured!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Riley, a Toronto Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Toronto, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Toronto.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Toronto already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Toronto breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Toronto paves the way for another one to be saved.
